Full course description

Course Overview

This course will introduce you to the essential principles of coaching and demonstrate practical skills for life coaching, team coaching and coaching at work. Participants will learn how to set powerful goals for individuals, groups and teams, and explore the non-critical, non-judgemental, and confidential nature of a coaching relationship. The course is ideal for anyone who would like to learn the core approaches to personal coaching and team coaching or acquire practical skills for use in both personal and professional life.

Planning or adapting to change in life or in work is a common challenge in today’s society.  Many people face the prospect of career change, retirement, challenges at work or significant life adjustments or transitions. Coaching often challenges us to look at life in order to assess our priorities, our values and our goals. This course will help to establish the tools that can help to manage these situations.

Coaching provides us with a structure to address change in an effective and clear manner.  It empowers us to set new goals, clarify options and provide solutions to complex issues.  These skills can be put to good effect in the workplace, sport or group setting, in assisting others to look at a change in their own personal lives. Self-coaching is also a very effective tool that people use in their own lives in order to address change and manage stressful or triggering situations.

In addition to learning a number of coaching skills, individuals will also be provided with an opportunity to see the benefits of coaching at a practical level by experiencing the coaching process in a structured and objective way. And once equipped with coaching skills and tools, you can enable others and yourself to:

  •         Examine, create and define an outcome that you want to achieve in your professional or personal life and develop an action plan to obtain these goals.
  •       Develop fresh perspective and energy to mobilise your thinking and actions.
  •       Improve assertiveness and focus, increases self-awareness, self-control and self-confidence.
  •       Develop your leadership ability and take on leadership roles in professional and personal contexts.
